A very important function of a scripting environment is the ability to interface with different types of medium. Customisation is key to professional product solutions. SAN Script was developed for the EtherPad Duo and EtherPad Digital I/O ranges. SAN Script allows you to create simple and complex routines to process and analyse serial or network data. Results can be sent in numerous ways, which include SNMP traps, email, FTP upload or even presented on the embedded webserver.

Implementing SMS functionality on these devices results in quick alarm notification over a GSM network. Customise the scripts to include processed data obtained from your serial device. An example could be hourly level readings between certain times, or instant notification of security breaches (e.g. door opening). You could even write a simple SMS Gateway for multiple devices and workstations to use.
