The PocketPAD FX is a compact, low-cost device server which connects an asynchronous serial devices to Fiber Ethernet networks through a single serial interface. It can be mounted on a DIN Rail or simply left as a standalone device.

Ethernet devices could be a server application polling for information from the serial unit, or a controller with an Ethernet port. A COM Port Redirector software tool can also be employed to provide a virtual COM Port which is tunnelled through to the PocketPAD via Ethernet for server applications that are not bundled with network connectivity options (i.e. legacy systems).

The PocketPAD also provides a transparent serial link over the Ethernet network between two serial devices, when used with another PocketPAD.

The PocketPAD FX is available with RS232 only or with a RS232/RS485/RS422 interface configurable via internal dip switches.
