of bar code scanners in their new ETS Manufacturing solution.
ETS (Event Tracking System) base model is an event capturing and tracking system that can define items/objects within an organization and can
determine the exact state and location of such defined items/objects that form a crucial part of a defined organization business process.
The ETS Manufacturing solution provides an effective method of accurately capturing factory production information. I.e. which operator
(accountability), when (time and date), what product (or batch), and where (production line).
In the textile manufacturing industry where the ETS Manufacturing product is aimed, the system works as follows. Using Multiporters connected
to a range of barcode scanners, ETS is able to pinpoint user interaction over a huge production plant. The plant is setup in rows & columns,
like a matrix of sewing machines/workstations, each with a barcode scanner linked to it through a Multiporter. Using client/server applications,
Scantrack can monitor each workstation by identifying which matrix cell is linked to a specific Multiporter IP address and port number.
Ethernet was chosen for the networking solution as it provides a simple and open communication standard. The Multiporters were chosen for the
connectivity solution as they offer user-friendly configuration and management interfaces, and adhere to open communication standards.
